Law Related Updates!

Excuse me for being slow on the posts! This evening's meeting went amazing thank you to everyone who showed up! There are, however, some law-related updates you should keep yourself up to date on. First, at 6:30 pm on October 24 (Room TBA) there will be a "softs" informational session in which we will discuss all things non-numerically related. This includes extracurricular activities, internships, courses, majors, undergraduate institutions, personal statements, and letters of recommendation. We all are aware that your GPA and LSAT are important, but there is an entire whole aspect of the application that does not require numbers- who you are as an individual and not just an applicant. Second, we will be having our first PLHS court room sit in sometime in the near feature. Lastly, I understand it is not technically law related, but the social chair is throwing a Halloween Social/Game Night this Thursday, October 20th at 7:30 pm at my house! E-mail me for the address or look out for a PLHS listserv email coming your way soon. Hope to see everyone there!

Mock Law School Admissions Panel at UF!

Interested in learning what goes through the minds of admissions officers at law schools? Today, September 26 at 5:00 pm in Farrior Hall 200, you will get the chance to find out! Here is the description of today's event:

Join us for a mock law school admission committee meeting where you will be given a chance to learn first-hand about the many factors that are considered in the law school application process.  You will review files of actual law school applicants, considering all aspects of the file (LSAT, GPA, letters of recommendation, personal statements, and other support documents included in a real admissions file).  The discussion will be led, as it would be in an actual admission committee meeting, by two seasoned admission professionals, Associate Dean Michelle Rahman from the University of Richmond School of Law and Associate Dean John Benfield from the Charleston School of Law.  At the conclusion of deliberations an offer of admission will be determined by the committee.  The program is participatory and entertaining.  RSVP to prelaw@advising.ufl.edu

Also- Send me an e-mail if you go to this event along with a fact only someone who attended would know, or come up to me before, during, or after the event to make sure I write you down as an attendee. Hope to see you there!
